Penang is well known for the great street foods, with relatively low price. If you see a long queue at certain stall, it have to be something worth to try.
After the opening of their 1st outlet  in Sutera area, Taste of Georgetown have their 2nd outlet in one of the most happening shopping mall in Johor Bahru, KSL mall.
Just like the shop name, Georgetown is the capital of Penang state. Taste of Georgetown served authentic Penang food, and you can find the Penang food now even you are in Johor Bahru.
Taste of Georgetown KSL outlet is just located at the same floor with MBO cinema, just few steps away from cinema.

Even the restaurant is located inside the shopping mall, the way how Taste of Georgetown presented is more like a kopitiam, decorated with Penang famous mural wallpaper and traditional suitcase hanging in the restaurant.

Have a look of their menu, you will notice the price is not like other restaurant inside the shopping mall. Most of their main dish is less than RM10, more to kopitiam price range.
Chee cheong fun (Steamed rice rolls) , one of my favourite snack, served with thick prawn paste and crispy fried shallot. It's not easy to find the chee cheong fun with prawn paste in JB. The prawn paste is with a mixture of sweetness and salty due to the prawn.

Small snack such as popiah, which can be found in Taste of Georgetown too. I like this popiah, which have lots of sengkuang wrapping inside.

Their signature dish-- Hokkien mee, which you can change the type of noodle, such as hor fun or mee hoon. The topping also varied according to your choice, which can be either prawn or roasted pork.
My 1st try with the soup is really great, rich taste from the prawn. For those who prefer spicy hokkien mee, you can add the sambal that is served in the spoon, which trigger your taste bud further.
Don't know what to order in Taste of Georgetown?? Just pick a Hokkien mee and you will never regret.

Penang Asam Laksa, which is different the local laksa, with mixture of sweet, sour and spicy in one bowl of laksa. The white rice noodle is come with a piece of shredded fish. Well, rich asam taste overall,  even Penang Asam Laksa is not preference compare to Penang Hokkien mee. With the portion, taste and price, I would say it's worth for those Penang asam laksa lover to come and try.

Besides some well known Penang food, you may order some traditional Malaysia food such as Nasi Lemak ( Malaysian coconut rice ) and Rendang chicken rice.

The platter, which consist of meat roll ( lok bak) , fried tofu and fried prawn snack, come with 2 different sauces. When you have a closer look on the meat roll, you can find that the meat is still in pieces.

With so many nice Penang food with rich taste, relieve yourself with a cup of sweet 3 layers tea, which is one of the popular local drink you can find in most of the kopitiam in Malaysia.

Talk about Penang food , cendol is something you can't miss. I still remember my visit of Penang few years ago, the famous cendol stall is surrounded with many people, having their cendol along the roadside. Taste of Georgetown have cendol too, which can be your dessert after your meal.
