Discover the beauty of Zanzibar
As an Asian, the countries we choose to travel will be somewhere within the continent.
It's one of my travel goal to step my foot on the land of Africa.
With Airasia announced the direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Mauritius, I believe more people will start to plan their journey to Africa.
Did you ever heard of Zanzibar?
Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania consisting of Zanzibar Island,Pemba Island and many smaller islands.
As I do some research on Zanzibar, it's take around 13 hours flight from Malaysia to Zanzibar, with at least 1 stop for the journey. The good thing about traveling in Zanzibar is no visa needed for Malaysian. That's save a lot of hassle on pre-departure to Zanzibar.
The attractions in Zanzibar
There are some fabulous beaches on the islands of Zanzibar, and many choices for an ideal spot to sit back and watch the white dhow sails cruising the startling blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
Besides the beach, one of the remarkable attraction in Zanzibar is Stone town, which has been included in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in 2000.

The historic town in Zanzibar
Every historic town have their own story. Walking along the street and reveal the story in Stone town. Once the historic centre of the ivory, gold and slave trade, the ancient maze of narrow streets that make up Zanzibar's 'Old Town' are now a web of markets, shops and craft centres.
To have more understanding about the daily life of the Zanzibari royal family, there are Palace Museum, which is the former sultan's palace.
There is Old Fort, which is a heavy stone fortress that was built in the 17th century by the Omani. It has a roughly square shape; the internal courtyard is now a cultural centre.
Not forgetting the House of Wonders, which is the first house in Stone Town to have electricity, running water, and an elevator. It's also the landmark of Stone town.
You may hire a guide to help you to make the most out of your time in Stone Town, and understand more about this historic and in fact artistic town in Zanzibar.
