Johor Bahru Food Hunting Adventure #1
Johor Bahru, a city where I was born and grew up. It's more well known when you mention it's the city next to Singapore.
It's not a city that you will see a lot of tourists, if compare to other cities in Malaysia.
As a traveler, travel is to discover the hidden and unusual attraction.
All the city have it's own unique beauty and you just need to find it. There is no boring city, it's depend on how you have fun in the place you visit.

9am- 1st stop : Breakfast
Skipping a meal can set you up for overeating in the next meal of the day. Eating breakfast is important to refresh and energise yourself. Here's I suggested 2 different breakfast in JB town area.
Curry Hor Fun
For those who love curry and spicy, you may love to have this curry hor fun from Seng Kee at Taman Sri Tebrau.
Not very spicy, which is well suit to me, with some vege and meat as the ingredients with the hor fun.
As I see the whole coffee shop, almost all tables have at least an order for curry hor fun.
This curry hor fun only sell in the morning, so do wake up early to enjoy this breakfast.
Kee Kim Huat Kopitiam

Hainanese Porridge
If you prefer a plain breakfast, porridge maybe is a good choice for you.The rice is cooked until grainy and thick, with some pork meat, fried shallots and You Char Kway.
You may add the egg, which is optional with extra charge.
Multi Mart kopitiam

10.30am - 2nd stop : Danga Bay, Johor Bahru.
After the breakfast, Enjoy your day at Danga Bay with the breeze and facilities.
There are some facilities you may use, such as the man-made beach, garden and sport facilities in Country Garden Danga Bay. Some are free and some are chargeable.

Food hunting continued with a simple morning snack in Johor Bahru.
I guess most of us didn't heard about this snack " Kacang Pool"
Kacang Pool, which is a kind dish adapted from Middle East.
As you can see from the photo, it served with thick toast, and the specially made bean sauce with an egg.
One of the most famous stall served the Kacang Pool is located at Larkin.
Medan Selera Bomba Larkin
26, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Taman Larkin , 80350 Johor Bahru.
12.30pm - 4th stop : Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple
Don't miss this popular Indian Temple in JB, which it's interior and exterior is covered in glass. It' free entrance for all the Malaysian, with a charge of RM3 if you would like to take picture or video with camera or phone.
It is beautiful and stunning. The temple is not big, but the location is a bit difficult to search.
I and my friend spent some time in this temple, appreciate the beauty of temple and the light reflection of the glass.
We went to a restaurant nearby to have some seafood lunch. One of the special seafood they served will be this boneless fried fish.
The only part of this fish which can't eat is the tail. It's not fried until crispy, but very fragrance with soft flesh.
Seng Steam Fish Restaurant

2.30pm - 6th stop : Dessert/ Tea time
After the lunch, we went for dessert. With the sunny weather, it's great to have some Cendol to make ourselves refresh and cool. This cendol is not very sweet, as they used the palm sugar, with rich of coconut milk.
I ordered a Cendol Special, which has glutinous rice besides the ice shave.
We ordered some Malay Kuih such as fried banana, banana fritter and some keropok.
Well, there is always have another stomach which reserve for the dessert and snack. Haha~~
Cendol House,
41, Jalan Utama, Kampung Melayu Majidee, 81100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
3.30pm - 7th stop : Shopping time!! ( City Square, Komtar CC or KSL Mall)
The top 3 most happening shopping malls which are near to the city centre.
No matter when you visit this 3 shopping mall, there is always the crowd.
PS: Komtar CC and City Square are just next to each other, walking distance from the JB CIQ Complex (JB custom)
From JB CIQ Complex (JB custom), you may reach KSL Mall by taking a public bus S1 by Causeway Link or Bus IM17 by Maju Bus Company (Fare: RM1.50 one way)
6.30pm - 8th stop : Dinner
End your tired day with a nice, scrumptious dinner of claypot chicken rice, located at the same kopitiam with the 1st stop of breakfast, at Taman Sri Tebrau.
Claypot chicken rice is always my favourite, compare to a normal chicken rice. The claypot rice is typically cooked over a charcoal stove, which adds a unique smokey and charred flavour to it.
