Hotel Review: Hotel Jen Penang
Living in a luxury hotel during a travel is a kind of bless and enjoyment. There is no word of "boring" you will think of if you stay in the luxury hotel with lots of facilities, even stay for a long time.
Hotel Jen is one of the brand under Shangri-La Group. It is one of the well known hotel brand in Asia Pacific. Hotel Jen Penang is formely known as Traders Hotel Penang. It is located next to Komtar building, 1st Avenue shopping mall, and Prangin Mall.The location is ideal for tourist as it is centrally located in the city, conveniently access with public transport.
As you step into the lobby of the hotel, you will see very typical Malaysian style motif decor, using brown as the main theme colour. There is a long reception counter to cater all the hotel guests. The staff assisted me to check in my room, and also explained well on all the facilities in hotel that I can use.
The room is access with key card. Generally,the room is clean and big, with good lighting.
Like most of the 4-5stars hotel, sometime you may amaze with the amenities provided in the room. Besides all the basic amenities such as LCD/plasma TV with variety channels, toiletries, iron and iron table, hairdryer, bath cloth and room slipper, I found some surprise when I explore my room and bathroom. I found the weight balance in the bathroom!!! Ermm, it's good to check how much I gain after the food hunting in Penang. Haha~~~
The hotel know the need of the girl as they provide not only the big mirror in the bathroom, there is small make-up mirror too.
The room equip with a comfortable sofa, kettle, safety box and mini fridge too. It's very lovely as there is a small notes to remind you to open the fridge to find the surprise complimentary fruits from the hotel.
Another unique thing I found in the room will be this very traditional alarm clock beside the bed. If you don't like the morning call from the reception, you may set the alarm by yourself.
Your activity in the hotel will not only limited in your room and hotel lobby. You may visit the club lounge , which is located on the 16th floor in the hotel. It's like a common room. There are quite a few complimentary special services you can find, such as a desktop computer and internet services, faxing and photocopying, boardroom, newspaper and magazine with various language and free drinks throughout the day.
Not only for guest who come to Georgetown for travel, those who come for business traveler may find the facilities in the lounge useful.
The club lounge also serve cocktails and canapes in the evening. It's such a wonderful experience as I enjoy my wine, and from the lounge, I can see the beauty of Georgetown. There are wide variety of snack and fruits during cocktail hours.
As expected from a luxury 4-stars hotel, Hotel Jen Penang have its health and fitness club, with gym, aerobic studio, sauna and steam room. All this facilities open 24-hours. Therefore, you can do work-out at anytime you want.
and don't forget to dip yourself into the outdoor swimming pool to have a referesh after a tiring day.
If you wanna having massage, you may make a reservation from the fitness club. They may assist you and arrange a suitable massage for you.
Breakfast is the most important meal of a day . I love to have a big feast breakfast to treat myself well and begin a new day. The hotel serves buffet breakfast with international variety of choice, and again I finds some surprise from the hotel. I totally in love with the fresh blend fruit juice from the hotel. It's not so common to find from the buffet breakfast. Plus, the hotel not only provides the normal cereal, but also provide more healthier muesli and yogurt . As I observe, most of the breakfast are served in more healthier way, such as less oil for those fried food and less sweet for the dessert.
Overall, I'm glad to stay in Hotel Jen Penang for a day and the services that you will get is definitely worth the price that you pay. Haha, I tried most of the hotel facilities they have and to be honest, my time passed damn fast when I stayed in Hotel Jen.
